High School Blues

Set in a High School in one of the poorer areas of a large city, this musical is about the trials and tribulations of teenagers growing up in the present era.

It has the classic ingredients of rich girl meets poor boy and the discovery of what the words rich and poor actually mean.

Six teenagers take the lead roles in this show along with roles for two teachers and their lifestyle, problems and struggles are revealed.

High School Blues is about having FUN. The show takes a light hearted look at how life as a teenager hasn’t changed as much as we might think through the ages.

The classic ‘cool car’, ‘boy meets girl’, ‘at the school dance’ songs are there with a new twist along with the modern day elements of cell phones and technology and the stresses of modern day living.

This show is approximately 100 minutes long and is suitable for a cast of 30 – 100 with opportunities for many styles of singing and dance. Age group is suited to

teens – young adults with cameo roles of younger brothers and sisters, parents and teachers.
